Phong Nha – Ke Bang is a national park in the center of Quang Binh province in north-central Vietnam. It protects one of the world’s two largest karst regions with several hundred caves and grottoes. Its name derives from Phong Nha cave, the most beautiful one, with numerous fascinating rock formations, and Ke Bang forest. The plateau is probably one of the finest and most distinctive examples of a complex karst landform in Southeast Asia.
Itinerary
Day 1: Hue – Vinh Moc tunnels – Quang Binh ( B/L/D) (105 km)
07:00 Pick you up at your hotel or our office in Hue and take a short drink of coffee with Vietnamese style.
07:30 Riding on Highway 1 to Vinh Moc tunnels, one more option we can stop and take some pictures at Quang Tri Old Citadel
09:30 Arrived Vinh Moc tunnels and begin learning about the life of Vietnam soldiers in the war.
10:15 Riding continuous to Phong Nha National Park. On the way we can enjoy the lunch on the local restaurant.
15:00 Arrived Bo Trach district and check-in hotel.
Day 2: Paradise cave - Phong Nha cave – Dong Hoi
06:15 Having breakfast and check-out hotel
07:00 Riding to Western Ho Chi Minh Trail to Paradise cave, take some pictures with natural forest on the way.
07:30 Walking about 10 minus to Paradise Cave. Enjoy the voice of many kind of birds overthere.
08:00 Begin explore “Paradise” cave and you will be surprised increasingly by the structure of these stalactites and the stalagmites inside.
09:30 Come back to Phong Nha National Park. Take boat along Son river to the gate of Phong Nha cave. The wildly and weirdly beautiful of that cave will make be good impression to the traveller.
12:00 Enjoy the local food before coming back Hue city.
You have another option that is go to Dong Hoi rail station to take the train to Hanoi.
